A zaguate is a Costa Rican term for mixed-breed dog or a mutt. The word can sometimes be interpreted as a dog without pedigree, and these animals widely celebrated for their independence, reliance, and unique physical characteristics. This Pickle-Tee design celebrates Costa Rica’s beloved mixed-breed dogs, the zaguates. Equal parts street-smart, loyal, goofy, and unstoppable, the zaguate is basically the unofficial mascot of every beach road, soda, front porch, and random afternoon adventure.
